Hi, I'm Claire

My previous role as a youth worker ultimately inspired me to train as a counsellor.

I thoroughly enjoyed walking with young people and wanted to be better equipped to support them, and since then I’ve had the opportunity to work with children, young people, and adults in a counselling capacity. I really value the diversity and richness that comes with supporting individuals across different stages of life.

As well as work with young people, I have a particular passion for supporting families, parents, and women as they navigate life’s transitions and challenges.

I offer a warm and compassionate space for healing and growth, following your lead and working at your pace. As an Integrative Counsellor I have skills in a variety of approaches meaning I can tailor our time together to best suit your needs.

Outside the therapy room, I’m passionate about community, friendship, family and travel — all of which continue to shape my values, perspective, and counselling approach in meaningful ways.

My Approach

I believe in the power of relationship and trust in the counselling space. I see therapy not as fixing, but as walking with you — offering a space to be fully heard, a relationship to help you reconnect with who you are, and to empower you to move forward with clarity and confidence.

I always have a client-led approach, but at the right time I can call on my experience of therapy through play, creative interventions, practical takeaways, and reflective prompts to help people explore their experiences in ways that feel safe and accessible. When working with trauma, I take a phased, trauma-informed approach — supporting clients first with grounding techniques and tools for managing day-to-day symptoms, before gently exploring and processing experiences held more deeply.

My Training

I hold a Masters degree in Integrative Counselling, with specific training in:

Person-Centred;

Systemic;

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy;

Psychodynamic approaches;

Bereavement and Grief;

Counselling for Depression;

Solution Focused Brief Therapy;

Therapy Through Play.

I also have specific training to help people explore how their faith, spirituality or religion impacts their world-view and experiences. I enjoy walking with people of all ages and backgrounds as we explore this together.

In my practice I follow the client’s lead and strive to be flexible and responsive to this — sessions are always shaped by the client’s unique needs, story, and goals.
