Hi, I'm Rachel

Since 2013, I’ve been working as an integrative counsellor, creating a safe and non-judgemental space where people can share their story and the challenges they may be facing. My goal is to help clients feel heard, understood, and supported as they work through difficult emotions and life experiences.

I take an empathetic and collaborative approach to counselling, building a trusting relationship where clients can explore their feelings, come to terms with the issues they are facing, and take steps toward positive change.I specialise in supporting people who have experienced domestic or sexual abuse, but my experience is broad having worked with a range of issues in the NHS. I believe that  every person I meet brings their own unique story and strength and seek to be guided by your needs, pace and goals.

Outside of counselling, I love exploring the world—whether that’s through travel, outdoor adventures, or simply trying something new. I bring that same sense of curiosity and joy into my work with clients, helping to make therapy a space where growth and discovery can feel engaging and meaningful.

My Approach

As an integrative counsellor, I create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and supported, working at your pace and guided by your goals. I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches, including creative therapies like writing, drawing, or sand tray work, to help express what can be hard to put into words. As a trauma-informed therapist, I prioritise safety, choice, and empowerment, helping you build resilience and use grounding techniques while exploring your experiences.

With children, I use play and creative activities to support self-expression, understanding, and confidence, always following their lead and working at a pace that feels natural.

I recognise life’s challenges and hold space for them with empathy, while also celebrating small steps, personal strengths, and moments of lightness—because healing can come through joy, curiosity, and reflection alike.

My Training

I hold an MA in Integrative counselling which includes theories and skills from person centred, systemic, pscyhodynamic, CBT and creative therapies.

Additional Training includes:

Certificate in Counselling for Depression

Certificate in EMDR

Certificate in Supervision

Trauma-Informed Practice

Compassion Focussed Therapy

Play Therapy

I also have specific training to help people explore how their spirituality or faith or meaning of life is impacted when facing difficulties.  For some this is a key part of their journey for others it is not.  As with all issues brought to counselling I follow the lead of the client, providing a non-directional, safe environment for exploring this kind of issue.
